The Great Danoodle is a designer cross between the Great Dane and the Standard Poodle, also called the Danedoodle or Great Danepoo. The mix pairs the Great Dane's easygoing, gentle-giant temperament, shaped by its history as a German boar-hunting and guardian breed, with the Standard Poodle's quick intelligence and lower-shedding coat. As a hybrid it is not recognized by the American Kennel Club, though designer registries acknowledge the cross. Most puppies grow into tall, elegant dogs that lean toward a Poodle-like outline with the Great Dane's soulful expression, and coats range from black, blue and silver to apricot, cream and even harlequin patterns.

This is a giant companion: adults commonly stand 22 to 27 inches tall and weigh 70 to 110 pounds, so early training and good leash manners matter.
